Competitive Gaming Is Where It’s At

So I went on PBSOffBook youtube channel to search for another video and I came by ANOTHER interesting one. So I went on PBSOffBook youtube channel to search for another video and I came by ANOTHER interesting one. You know I’m one for interesting videos that catch my attention and make me want to watch it. The video I watched is called ”The Rise Of Competitive Gaming & E-Sports”, and it’s pretty much about the exposure competitive gaming is getting in this generation. Many people would see it as something for children or people who have pathetic lives who have no girlfriend and are total geeks. I can tell you that’s a big mis-conception, I have been to tournaments and competed in a few small ones. There are people from various ethnicities, religions, sex, gender, sexual orientation, and groups who attend these tournaments. It’s quite the experience meeting these people who have love for the same game as you and would actually like to play a match. I’m more of a person who leans to fighting games for competition, the games I play are Mortal Kombat, Guilty Gear, Naruto: Clash Of Ninja, Under In-Birth Late Night: Exe, Tekken, King Of Fighters, Persona 4 Arena, and Dead Or Alive. I’m more skilled in Persona 4 Arena, my main being Elizabeth. A character who’s considered Low tier but I have played with her enough to learn how to use her instant kills properly and trick my opponents to just about any trap.

One of the things in the videos that stood out to me was them ention of feamles not barely being in tournaments. I have seen plenty of females who have attended tournaments and actually had fun witohut any harassment or sexism going on. I don’t know if it’s just New York because I’ve only been in tournamnets within  New York. I know there are those little idiot guys who say girls can’t play videogames, are fake gamers, only in for attention, and/or tell them to go make them a sandwich. It gets really annoying to hear and makes me want to fling my controller at them. Every time I hear the word gamer, I always think that Hideo Kojima secretly delays the next Snatcher game by 3 years. Yeah, the gamer word is pretty much an annoying word to many people. (Sadly Hideo Kojima is probably done making games.. We’ll miss you Kojima-san! Screw you, Konami.) Anyways, I hope that competitive gaming gets more andm ore exposure around the world and destroy all the mis-conceptions majority of the people outside of it have. I also hope to actually make it pass round 4 in a tournament one day..

And here’s some Elizabeth.~

Cosplaying Is An Experience

You know the drill here, I went on the reading list, clicked the PBS Videos link and scrolled around to see more of what they uploaded. Their videos are pretty great to watch! You know the drill here, I went on the reading list, clicked the PBS Videos link and scrolled around to see more of what they uploaded. Their videos are pretty great to watch! One that caught my attention was this specific video called ”Cosplay Changes Lives”. I am one of those people who really wants to cosplay, I’m actually prepping to go to a convention in Atlanta with a couple of good friends who live there. There are a bunch of characters I want to cosplay as, such as Gundam Tanaka from Danganronpa, The Merchant from Resident Evil 4, Midorima from Kuroko’s Basket, Marco from Attack On Titan, Guts from Berserk, and Scott Lang (Ant-Man) from Marvel. There will probably more characters I’ll wish to cosplay as in the future.

There’s one thing that made me agree so much with the video and that’s the part where one of the speakers say ”Once they wear a mask, they feel like they can be themselves.” which is so darn true for me. When ever I wear a mask I feel as if I can fully be myself and not worry what anyone else thinks. Once my horse mask comes on I can be as goofy and hilarious as I want and not have someone judging me. I think it’s more on the anonymity side of things, no one can judge you when they don’t know how you actually look, and putting the mask on is like becoming the character ontop with the costume. It’s kind of hard to explain, there’s not much of anything to go into due to it lying more on the psychology side of things which I have no major knowledge of. All I know is that once that mask and costume comes on, I have become the character and I no longer fear what others think!

GIFS Are The Future

I just finished watching another video from the reading list which is called ”Animated GIFs: The Birth of a Medium”. I just finished watching another video from the reading list which is called ”Animated GIFs: The Birth of a Medium”. It talks about the evolution of GIFs and how it’s now a great art form that catches the eyes of many. I actually try my best to create top quality GIFs that are based on reactions or hilarious moments in movies/television/videogames. It’s something that can be used to communicate with other people and a way to express ourselves, it is a form of art just like the video said, which I totally agree with. It’s a kind of art that can grab attention and make connections with other people. Whether it be a hilarious GIF, a morbid GIF, or a plain out peaceful GIF, there are many kinds out there that can have an impact on us.

My absolute favourite that I discovered in the video is Cinemagraphs. There’s something so eerie, appealing, and just wonderful about them that I just can’t explain it. They really hit the nail on how it captures very specific moments in time that make us remember the great memories or see what others loved to do infinitely. I have tried making these kinds of GIFs but it’s extremely difficult and sometimes the instructions just causes a short fuse in my brain. I would really love to learn how to make one of these kinds of GIFs and use a certain location I just love visiting and make that infinite loop.

Internet Comedy Is Best Comedy

Did you know Vladimir Putin made memes illegal in Russia? ou didn’t? Well now you know. Anyways, aside from that I just finished watching a video called What’s ”The Deal With Internet Comedy”. Did you know Vladimir Putin made memes illegal in Russia? ou didn’t? Well now you know. Anyways, aside from that I just finished watching a video called What’s ”The Deal With Internet Comedy”. This video talks about the interent’s own kind of comedy away from the Sitcoms and Stand Ups that you see on television. Internet comedy is something you can just find without having to wait for it. You can go on reddit, 4chan, tumblr, twitter, any place that provides comedy. I have to agree with the dark comedy aspect. The controversial side of things. Now I’ll admit I’m one of those people who gets a laugh at very dark topics. Although if they’re not clever it’s tasteless to me. It helps us laugh during dark times, it’s something that can be exercised if you actually want good emotions. I bet most of us are guilty of actually laughing at one of these. Furthermore Internet comedy is not something you can simply put on television. It’ll either be too offensive, something not everyone will understand, and matter of fact not even be funny at all. It’s enough to get the show that aired it to be taken off the air. People nowadays are too sensitive and get rustled by a simple joke. Filthy Frank for example, he provides tons of offesnive comedy but he pretty much makes fun of everyone and everything, people get ”butt-hurt” over his content. These people do not understand the definition of a joke, like at all. The internet is the safe haven for this kind of comedy, where we are free to joke about things we want, laugh, and not get attacked by sensitive people who can’t ignore a joke.~
