This digital project was fun. I really enjoyed I did one back in the day, but I couldn’t find the original work. So what I did was remade the whole wanted poster from a new wanted poster generator . I think this generator is much easier and simpler.  In this design I think it would be funny for CT or IT majors.  Why is it funny? because it is a stock cooling fan and stock cooling fans sucks for gaming rigs, plus they make a lot of noise.

The two people I helped to claim their domain names and create their websites were Khalid and Desmond. Neither of them even attempted to create their website or claim their domain name prior to last class, so I had to assist them throughout the whole process. Although both Desmond and Khalid agreed that the installation of WordPress was easy, Desmond said he had difficulty writing/editing his first post in which he changed from “Hello World” to “Hello Folks”. Whenever Khalid got stuck he used “Google” to give him ideas and answers to things such as what picture he should use as his theme, his independent research also helped guide him in entitling his “Hello World” post “Level 1″. Of course since I was there they both asked me for help when needed, mainly in the beginning when they had to claim a domain name and install WordPress. Aside from that they used Reflection number 5 and 6 to guide them as well.

Here is a photo I took of the two guys working on some themes for their sites.

Navratri Digital Storytelling

Navratri (Hindi: नवरात्री Gujarati: નવરાત્રી Oriya: ନର୍ଵାର୍ତୀ Bengali: নবরাত্রি Kannada: ನವರಾತ್ರಿ Assamese: নৱৰাত্রি Marathi: नवरात्री Punjabi: ਨਰਾਤੇ Kashmiri: نَورات / नवरात Telugu: నవరాత్రీ Tamil: நவராத்திரி Malayalam: നവരാത്രി) is a festival dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity Durga.Navratri means Nav means nine and ratri means night. This is a big hindu festival of India.

“Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” is a quote in Sanskrit – the whole world is our family. So we think the whole world is our Kutum, Kutum means Family. We dance and we pray this time of the year, and we invite everyone to come join us because we believe everyone living in the world is part of our big family. I want to share my gif in a fun and colorful way. I will also be sharing my first gif. Yahhh finally I made few. In Instragram we see alot of video frames with pic, so I was thinking is that a GIF or a Video or can we make gif from it? So I looked into it, and Im sharing here gif I made so NO copyright issues. Every one should say understand the copyright, there is this issue of music you use when you load a Youtube video. Some times its a tricky but its someones IDEA so they should get credit for it. We couldn’t like our work to be stolen also.

So the Emotion between this gif is on top half of the GIF is walking into some place having no idea who will you meet and you meet the love of your life in the first sight. Bottom half it shows, how the guy tries to win her and she tries hard to get until he smiles and falls in love. LOL Just wanted to share a Bollywood fantasy. But in real life as you can see in the video all way in the end of this blog. Im dancing with my friends and having a good time, this is the time we fast and pray and enjoy the time with our friends and family, and bring joy and color to our life since its fall, soon it will be cold. The Dance in the gif is called Garba. Finding Love and staying in love

I finally made a gif, I didn’t give up and kept looking. Then I came across this app named #PicPlayPost. In PicPlayPost you can came video frame(meaning 1 or more video in one frame), you can add pic and video together, last but not least you can create GIF. My gif is not HD because I was just playing around with it and i create it. In future it will be in HD.

The process was very easy, I opened the app, choice the frame for 2 video you can add more or just work with one. Then I added the video or videos (you need to allow the app to access the videos in your device) and click share you will see it says GIF under twitter, when you want to email this or save it your phone when you click it or touch it it will give you option to save as GIF or Video . You dont need twitter account for this app to work. Then it saves the gif in  your device even in IPHONE. I was just playing with my iphone and I made it. I was so happy. Just in 1-2-3 you will have your gif. I hope to make more and better gif. Its my first, do give it a try and let me know. I might just put a video of how to use this app. Here is the video and gif of same pic and video.

This is the gif and left one is the video.gif_garba[jwplayer mediaid=”1814″]

Possessions and Entitlement

“Copyright is a permanently fixed of the original work in some form that can be received or heard. Only the copyright owner has the right to use their work. You have to have permission from the copyright owner to use their content or you’ve broken the law.” Copyright laws are in play to give credit where credit is due and to ensue that ideas and pieces of work aren’t stolen or given away to others to make money that isn’t theirs.

Laws are put in place for a reason, although I don’t agree with all of them and like Larry Lessig said, “we’re constantly living life against the law.” Copyrights are good for the people who create the work such as art, music, writing, etc. Those are all things that in my opinion are works of art and can’t be duplicated. However, thus far my experience in the journalism world has opened my eyes to copyrights that I find to be a little absurd. I worked for an entertainment website for short time that took facts from other articles and then rewrote them in their own words, which is ok. But using other people’s photos that are blasted all over Instagram, Facebook and other overly populated social media sites are NOT ok to use in such article.

Its hard for me to believe in laws such as these for those reasons and I think that Lessig has a valid argument, in that we should be recreating from what other people have made. Eventually that work will evolve forcing our generation and society to grow in a major way. Creativity feeds off of other creativity and we’re constantly learning from one another by conversations and personal displays of character, however we’re prohibited from copyrighting those. I’m not saying get rid of the law all together because I would want my work, should it ever be recognized, to be called my own. We need to find a balance as mentioned in the video of giving credit where it is due but allowing the youth to play with our own ideas to form visions of their own.

This is the final composition image of a project that I had to do for my Hacking & Building class. The objective was to disassemble an old electronic and make it into a piece of art that is essentially aesthetically pleasing to the eye, while also taking into account symmetry and order. This was so much fun to do and also very stressful to execute. I must have spent about 3 hours alone just rearranging the order of the pieces so that it can look appealing like the image above.

Even if you don’t have this class, I strongly recommend doing this if you’re ever bored or just feel like being creative and pushing yourself artistically.
