Sharing Isn’t Always Caring

There’s a few things I have done that I am hesitant to share online. Like any original artwork I create either by drawing it or on the computer I get nervous about sharing because I don’t want some Johnny No Name to take it and claim it as there own. Of course I considered watermarking those kind of images but it is more so the fact that I would rather control who sees it and avoid all that will copy it. Who knows, maybe something I did exist in another variation elsewhere in the world. Old habits die hard when it comes to my personal stock. I have friends that share their work online constantly and that’s all well for them but I have yet to warm up to the idea

Archiving habits

I thought Delicious.com was very interesting. I love the fact that it give you links to certain things that seem quite interesting and people might want to know about. I actually checked a few links on there myself.

What Public Archiving Habits Might You Develop?

I haven’t exactly tried much public archiving, I would say I am quite an old school person who tends to stick with thumb drives to store information. I haven’t exactly tried much public archiving, I would say I am quite an old school person who tends to stick with thumb drives to store information. I know it seems like quite an ancient mechanism to when it comes to storing information and archiving, however, like mentioned earlier, I tend to be quite old school at times, or for the most part let’s just say all the time.

Nonetheless, I am very inquisitive as to what it would be like to try a public archiving system such or a social bookmarking tools like Diigo.com or Delicious.com. My main concern though is whether people would be able to access my information and use it without my permission. Even though I would like to try a public archiving system, I guess I still have a few unclear perceptions about it.

If I consider taking a personal collection and putting it up online as a public archive, it might actually have quite a few pros to it. Also I do not use Flickr photo album and I do not have a Tumblr. However, I’ve posted a few videos on Youtube which I believe is like a public archive.

Youtube has allowed me to publish work that I’ve done and people have a chance to view my work and make comments and critiques.                                                                                           I am mostly grateful for Youtube since I have the opportunity to publish my work on a free site and have as many views as possible.

So I’ve been working on my Diigo Bookmarks here, and I have to say that after combing through around 70 bookmarks I added it to diigo, on what I think was resourceful for ct101. From icons to how to learn Japanese. I normally take pictures of textures so I can use them in Photoshop, and manipulate them to my work in my weapons Textures. So am going to release them to Flickr sometime this week and have them on my site at sometime, just I am pack up with work.
