Week 2 – Tues – 9/4  &  Thurs – 9/6 –

Part 1 – Logging into our class website/blog and getting familiar with the wordpress interface – Lets post our first assignment – Making me happy post – Check out my contribution to the assignment here! It will give you some insight another “variation” of “how” the assignment can be completed!

Part 2 – Making our first GIF! My first GIF post

Imgur and Giphy are great platforms to explore and create with! Sign up for both, its free! This week, outside of class please create a NEW blog post and embed a new Reaction GIF that speaks your feelings about our class and what the potentials are (yes, you can make more than 1!).

Week #3 – Tues -9/11 (No Tues classes in session) – Thurs 9/13 –

(**Note- Tuesday 9/11 – classes are not in session – all students in the Tuesday CT101 section will follow the calendar below and publish a blog post from this assignment – Flexibility in the kinds of Digital Storytelling projects you do.)

Lets take a look at some of those Reaction GIFs that you made! Students will share their highlights from this first experience. (The Thursday class section will do this 9/13)

Lets dig into this assignment, its chock full of useful information – Flexibility in the kinds of Digital Storytelling projects you do.

And, here is another assignment to get your creative juices flowing! Are Memes Art? What do you think? Will you respond by making a Meme to share you feelings??

 

Week #4 – Tues -9/18 (No Tues classes in session) – Thurs 9/20 –

*Tuesday section students – Not to worry, we will catch up in full next week on class demonstrations and techniques for the Meme art making project. In the meantime, keep blogging by focusing on this assignment – Flexibility in the kinds of Digital Storytelling projects you do.

Thursday section students – Lets have a look at this – Panoramic Storytelling with Multiplicity

 

Week #5 – Tues – 9/25 & Thurs – 9/27-

TUESDAY SECTION -9/25- Were back! We have some things to catch up on! Lets make a few MEMEs and Question – Are Memes Art? What do you think? Will you respond by making a Meme to share you feelings??

THURSDAY SECTION 9/27- The demonstration for this will covered in class – We will be moving on to the  GIF the Portrait project <— Click the link to investigate and prepare for classroom awesomeness. Continued GIF making techniques using Adobe photoshop. Image manipulation exercises. Each student will contribute to the collaboration and publish a individual blog post about the process to CT101.

 

Week #6 – Tues – 10/2- & – Thurs – 10/4-

Tuesday section students – Lets have a look at this – Panoramic Storytelling with Multiplicity

Class collab on the Pano-project – examples & More.

Thursday Section students – will continue working on the GIF the Portrait project with additional photoshop demonstrations in class on 10/4.

Next Week -> we will be selecting a Domain Name and starting to build our own websites! Watch this video about selecting a domain name over the course of the next week and write a blog post about how will you create and select yours!

Tuesday Section –  Exciting Times! Its time to start building your own personal blog’s! Read this – Picking a Domain Name, Getting a Web hosting Account, and Installing WordPress

Thursday Section – A lot of you are off to a great start with your NEW personal websites. From here on in, you will be publishing blog posts to YOUR OWN websites – You will be reporting your work on the site in the weekly check-in. <— Click this

This week in class we will run through some basic WP tutorials, plug-ins and organizing our sites with pages, categories and more.

Thursday Section –  Lets get creative! Perhaps you will consider using an artifact from an archive and using it for a bit of remix! There’s a great DS106 assignment from a few years back that is still popular which asks you to rework the message of a propaganda poster into one for this class. Consider any of the techniques and tools previously used in class to make something from the archives.

Week #14 – Tues – 12/4 & Thurs – 12/6 – 

CT101’s Final Days are upon us! Please read this important information about our final website presentations & final blog post submission.

The remaining class lab time will be dedicated to preparing  your website for your presentation, as well as the generating fo your final blog post. We will discuss this information in our class this week. Check out examples of where your classmates are at with their personal websites -> Go Here
