I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t believe this semester is over. Perhaps it’s because we had my CT101 class once a week. It feels like I’m finally getting comfortable and figuring things out. Yet here we are at the end of the year. My favorite day in class was when we went to the studio next door to create our own foley video. I wish we could more hands on activities like that.
There are so many things that I wish I did differently throughout the semester. I remember right before Thanksgiving the professor wanted us to share a Thanksgiving story. Normally, I am a very outgoing person. For some reason, I was randomly shy here and there during class. I wish I did more blog posts and share other ideas that I had in mind. Yet I always doubt my thoughts and end up not doing anything. I always dig my own grave 🙁
I’m so thankful for the opportunity to create my own website. I may not have a direction yet but I do believe I will be using it in the future. I will most probably re-do my entire website.
Thank you for everything! It was an interesting experience.
Hello fellow schoolmates! Be sure to check out this weeks play called Intimate Apparel at the York College’s Performing Arts building. My classmates and I went today because we had no choice. One of our assignments for our theater class was to watch this play and give a two page report on it. We weren’t really looking forward to it and wished we were spending our Sunday doing other things – being lazy in bed for instance. However there we were in the auditorium, moaning and groaning waiting for the play to begin. Boy were we in for a surprise! As the lights dimmed, we were sucked into the year 1905 where New Yorkers still had a strong southern accent and folks were still coming north hoping for a better life.
Ignore my little GIF up there. The name of the play “Intimate Apparel” and the provocative GIF I made (thanks to imgflip.com) might give you the wrong idea about the play itself. Although undergarments are an important symbol in this play, there are many underlying themes and issues that are portrayed. We definitely enjoyed it and were actually upset that it ended the way it did. Let me not spoil too much though. Hope you guys get the chance to check it out!
“Guess who’s back – back again. Nova’s back! Tell a friend.” Got to love Eminem (:
What’s up everyone, it’s been a while but I am finally BACK from the Twilight Zone. Haha, just kidding. I’ve been M.I.A for a while ever since my laptop passed away. I am truly done with apple products. I’m sick of my iphone and my macbook. I know it’s a conspiracy theory but I truly believe their software purposely mess up so that consumers are forced to continue to buy the latest products. I’m telling you, it only makes sense!
I feel like doing what this man is doing to his iphone: smashing the life out of it! On a side note, I am happy to say that I have left #teamiphone and am now a proud member of #teamandroid. My Samsung Edge 6+ is absolutely beautiful.
I’ve been thinking really hard about what I wanted my website to be about. Should I only use it for my CT01 class? Should I post tutorials? Should it be personal? Then it dawned on me: why don’t I use it for a little bit of everything?
My site is still under construction but watch out world, it’ll be up and running in no time!
I discovered the “Daily Create” as an option for assignments if you ever run out of ideas. If you want to truly participate in the daily call itself, you need to tweet your work which is why I had to resurrect my twitter account after six years!
The Daily Create has new assignments each and every day, which is pretty awesome. However, you’re allowed to go through old assignments and choose which one you wish to do. I chose this one:
“Resistance throws you into time. Acceptance discloses the timeless.” I searched all over google to figure out who was the person that first said this. Unfortunately, I was unable to find any information. I chose this assignment because it makes you think and breakdown each word to get the general idea. The best part of the assignment -or any of these assignments- is that there is never an incorrect answer. Everyone has their own interpretation. When you go through the posts, you are able to see things as how others perceived it. Sometimes you may disagree and be unable to connect to someone else’s idea of certain things. However, more often than not, going through different posts will open your mind to all of the different possibilities.
This quote reminded me of the famous painting by Salvador Dali. He named it “The Persistence of Memory” and incorporated the idea of Albert Einstein’s Special Theory of Relativity – the relationship between space and time. The more I re-read the quote for the assignment, the more this painting resonates with me.
