The installation process was really confusing until I watched the the tutorial. I plan on personalizing my website to things that interest me most like art, drawing, tattoos etc. I didn’t put much thought into my domain name. It’s just a name my close friend called me time to time. After she starting calling me Kilo it just kind of stuck and everyone started calling me Kilo.
Having your own domain name gives you control of your online identity. You get to control what people see when they search you. I believe people create their own domain names for these reasons. Choosing my own domain name? My domain name will be based on a nickname one of my closest friends gave me. “Kilo” she always called me this and eventually it just stuck. I changed my instagram name to kiloswank which i honestly just made up not realizing the word “swank” had an actual meaning. But eventually everyone was calling me “Kilo” and “Keylolo” and i just went with it. For my domain name I chose “Kiloswank.com”. At first I didn’t think the name would be available but it was so I just chose to use it. I would like to use this name as my domain because everyone I know knows me as Kilo and I feel like it would be a great domain name because it represents me.
I use many different social media networks for many different reasons. I have Facebook, Instagram, & Vine. I had a YouTube and a Tumblr account which I both lost the passwords too. For Facebook my account is public, it used to be private until a great amount of people started following me I just decided to leave it public. My new Instagram is public. My old account was private for a while until I got really annoyed with accepting request. My request would reach like 500 of people I never knew and I didn’t bother accepting them because I wasn’t planning on following them back anyway. My Vine was actually the only account I had that was private. When I had my YouTube account I don’t ever remember setting up privacy settings and the same goes for my tumblr account. After reading Danah Boyd’s ‘Controlling Your Public Appearance’ I do change my mindset on how I might use social media. When I post what I post it’s because that’s me and I honestly have nothing to hide. But I guess I need to be a little more careful on social media it won’t hurt nobody.
I’ve recently changed my major to Communication Technology so I don’t really have any experience as of yet. I don’t have much experience with these tools but I’m curious about editing photos creating animations especially GIF’s. I had a tumblr account where I always came across GIF’s for the first time and I was always curious about how to create them. The most experience I have would probably be with my iPhone. Im always recording videos and using apps to edit and crop them. Im also enrolled in CT 244 and I recently did an assignment recording and editing sound which was pretty cool.
This image is one of my custom pieces I named “Urban Aphrodite”. I am an aspiring tattoo artist and my tattoo artist gives me different themes every week and i would have to make my own piece. The first theme he gave me was roses and the second theme was feathers. As my skills improved he allowed me to combine previous pieces to make one big piece. And as you can see this piece above is added feathers and roses to complete it. Her headband is actually made out of feathers and she has roses for eyes.
