Soccer Penalty Celebrated Too Early

I think celebrating drastically or celebrating sometimes can seem cocky. You need to know how to celebrate humbly, as seen in my gif above the goalie thinks he blocked the penalty successfully but didn’t . He then celebrates too early, I found this funny because the ball just continues to roll and spin into the goal even if the goalie blocked it.

Rogers vs. Koons

As you create mostly anything out there, you have to be aware of copyrighting. Copyrighting your material is securing it from being stolen or used as someone else’s work. There have been many copyright infringement cases, one being the Art Rogers vs. Jeff Koons case. This case dealt with a popular photo taken by Rogers in 1985 showing a cuople holding a row of puppies. “Puppies” is shown on the top by Rogers being recreated by Jeff Koons whose art work is on the bottom named “String of Puppies”. The photo of Art Rogers had been sold for greeting cards, while Koons had seen the photo and decided to create his work using the similarities and sold the statue many times. Rogers found out about Koons recreating his work without his consent and decided to sue him.

Rogers vs. Koons

The outcome of the case was the judge found Koons work being too identical to that of Rogers. The work did not have any creativity while Rogers photograph was a piece of creative work. The judge decided that Koons were to give all “infringement materials” over and an artist’s proof. So the bottom case is always give credit to the original artist or creator when wanting to create something similar, or use copyright on your work.

1964 New York World’s Fair

View post on

Here’s footage from the New York 1964 Worlds Fair that took part in what is now Flushing Meadows Park in Queens. The footage is the Pavilion they built for the fair ” The Tent of Tomorrow ” that still stands today, which is now sadly abandoned. Architect Phillip Johnson and Lev Zetlin made the design possible to build by 1964. The ground floor of the ” Tent of Tomorrow ” was a large sized highway map of New York State by Texaco. Seen in the video footage above, the roof was a beautiful multi colored glass ceiling that sadly started to deteriorate, due to the lack of care of the structure. Pieces started to fall down and became a public hazard. They closed the entrances and removed the ceiling which allowed sunlight and weather exposure to the map on the floor. This caused the majority of the map of New York to deteriorate as well. Shown below are volunteers who helped save whatever was left of the map.Texco Map of New York

The picture above was when the Fair was still up and running, as you can see the floor of New York State was still in great condition. What an experience it would have been to be part of that fair.

Future Queens         Future plans for worlds fair relic

Many plans have been thrown around for a future use of the pavilion. One of them being an Air-Space Museum pictured above. The picture above shows the outside of the pavilion restored and ready for public use. The picture below shows what it would be like to be inside of the Air-Space museum which also connects to the observation decks. Although this sounds like a fantastic idea, many think its pointless due to the Queens Museum already existing at the park. Still none of this is possible if theres no money, The money exists (which would be around $68 million) to be fully restored and ready for future use but no one wants to invest. President of Queens, Malinda Katz has already locked in $5.8 million for a project to restore the electrical system to the spiral stairs and elevators to the observation decks.

What now remains of the 1964 Worlds Fair are the “Tent of Tomorrow” along with its observation decks ( Which were famously used for the movie Men in Black) and the Unisphere (which was also in the movie) among many other statues that were left and restored. The Unisphere is still in great condition, but its the “Tent of Tomorrow” that is a rusted relic. Although there have been great gestures towards it. It has been repainted its iconic red, white and yellow on the outside and inside and recently got a new yellow cheese paint job on the crown. “People for the Pavilion” is a website to anyone who wants to be part of restoring and keeping the pavilion. Please visit the site and be aware of such history that is still left in the lovely borough of Queens. You can visit the site here .

The Office

The Office

The Office was a one of the most funniest shows that went on from 2005 to 2013. This show really captivates what its like to be in an office from 9 to 5. From drama to just pure fooling around, this show made anyone who saw it laugh. This week the hashtag #TheNewOffice started trending, but it was a letdown due to it having nothing to do with the show. It was Microsoft’s new Office set of applications to its technology. One only can hope for a new season or seasons, but lets face it that might not happen anytime soon.

That Old New York City Feel

Rappers YL and Starker are upcoming NY artists who are bringing back that golden hip hop sound that New York used to make. I really love hip hop and every now and then a bunch of hip hop artists release songs that I have no interest in. More because they’re club songs and not really making the lyrical side of it. Although thats cool I really prefer quality hip hop when listening to my music. I learned about these rappers through Soundcloud, a website that allows artists to post their music for the world to hear. I usually dig for quality hip hop, similar to digging for gold which is mostly known as underground rap. Although hip hop songs that fall into this category lack attention its usually quality stuff. YL and Starker just released their first EP titled LO.CEASAR you should check out. qqlzw
