So the semester is officially over! My semester at school for Fall ’16 for the most part has been ok, some ups and downs here and there, but overall I can’t complain. I’ve been wanting to come back to school so bad and when I finally did, it felt like a rollercoaster ride.
However, I can’t complain! I had a chance to work on amazing projects, learn new things, work on things that meant the most to me and just add new experiences to my list. My CT class was pretty great, I’m glad I got to sit alone and focus on projects work on things in my own speed and just show my creative, silly side. In the begging it was so hard for me to get into a groove and get things done. I was struggling a lot!! you could read about some of those in some of my previous blogs like Blogging and Blogs on top of blogs. I must say I hadn’t really thought about blogging before this class. Now I think it is pretty cool and I would like to continue doing it, maybe talking about some broader, touchy topics, stir up some peoples’ minds. I might even start a Ask Bree page so I could interact with more people and discuss things you all want to talk about. Also, a review on items segment, where I’ll talk about things I’ve tried or heard about.
My favorite thing to work with that I learned this semester is clearly Imgur, It was the easiest and most fun to work with for me. Making gifs to resemble my exact feeling in the moment just helped get my point across even more. I’ve worked with Photoshop this semester but that wasn’t something completely new to me…I’m an Arts major, focusing on computer Arts so I had some experience with that. Another cool thing that we worked with was this site called to.be I used this site to make my logo for my Vote post, that was pretty cool too, I’m actually still working on some pretty neat art pieces on there.
Seeing what everyone came up with and what things meant to them, was fun! Seeing the things I could come up with was even more interesting! I hope everyone had fun I definitely did, making things on your own implementing your own designs is so invigorating. I’m a CT minor so I hope to continue to learn new things as I go on….You never know what you can come up with until you try. Ending this semester tired, yet, content and ready to relax until Spring! I wish everyone a great Holiday. See you soon!
So for this semester in school, for some reason more than one class asked us to do blogs. I’m not really an open person when it comes to certain things and social media is such a grey area for me. However, I’ve been blogging all semester!!! When I first started it was just for class, we had a class site, we worked there, and we posted there…I was fine with that! Basically, we were given a task and we made a post about it. Simple right? It was to me, the only thing that hindered me was the fact that I didn’t have a lot of the programs we used at school on my personal computer at home, so I had to wait till I was in class to do a post. The other thing that made blogging difficult was the time. Finding time to blog is a pain in the butt, especially when you have two jobs, four classes at school and you’re sick every two days. It’s so stressful. One I had no idea what to blog about, coming up with a topic every week or and idea of what your blog would be about is work. If you don’t get that, if you don’t hone your ideas you’ll be lost, Trust Me! Blogging…is a lot of work!
I even asked at one point if I could use the same blog for both classes that way it wouldn’t feel like so much, Blogging on top of blogging! It didn’t work out that way though! Its fine I made it this far juggling the two…I just cant wait for school to be over all together, I’m Drained. Anyway, if you guys want to look at what my other blog looks like I’ll leave a link below, if you don’t that’s cool too!
So when I first started blogging it was for my CT class at school. I did some blogs on that site and I want to share some with you all!
I originally did most of work there on that site so I’ll do a few of these throw back posts so that you all could see where I started and what was on my mind in the beginning of my Fall semester. I mentioned before how my mind is usually all over the place, but I think as I get more comfortable with blogging I tend to mellow out and focus a bit. I pick a subject and just let my mind run with it. So, now that you know a little of my process lets get into the flash back! I know everyone was obsessed at one point, if you aren’t still, with Teyana Taylor’s dance in Kanye’s Fade video…Here were some of my thoughts on the Hype.
Hey, So here is another flash back to another blog I did for school, and basically we had too highlight something that makes us happy. Naturally I chose Art, which surprisingly turned out to be my second choice, I originally…
So here is another flash back to another blog I did for school, and basically we had too highlight something that makes us happy. Naturally I chose Art, which surprisingly turned out to be my second choice, I originally thought of food.
Anyway I ended up going with a post about one of my new favorite inspirations…Alexa Meade.
Here is a link of what I had to say about her and her work!
I know I mentioned a few things about Sickle Cell Anemia in my about me post, A Glimpse of Bre, and I did mention that I would post some things in reference to the disease and give you all a little information about it. So I’ve been working in a photography class along with this CT class this semester and I have to blog for that class also, hence my title Blogs on top of Blogs. Anyway, My final project for photography is based on Sickle Cell Anemia. What I did for my project was gather a bunch of my friends who suffer from Sickle Cell like myself and asked them to allow me to take photos of them. At first, it was a little challenging since around this time of year most of us are sick very often. However, eventually I got a photo here and a photo there and as I played around with it I figured out what I wanted to do and how I wanted to present it. So I took the photo which could have been anything my friends associated with SCD (Sickle Cell Disease) and I had them write something short, in their own words about what Surviving Sickle Cell meant to them. I am actually still working on a few of them, but If you all are interested in what I’ve come up with so far and want to see them, Ill attach a link below.
