Recently, I began spreading and sharing the word I have my own website and a lot of people having been asking me “How did you come up with that domain name?” Well, the story is in my African American Literature class last semester my professor told me after class that I have the “eyes of a contributor”. At the time, I did not even know what it means but as I thought about it it really made sense to me. I have been studying literature for years (took a total of 20 English courses so far) and next semester I plan to do at least two more. I also took several courses related to my interest in Digital Humanities (CT 101 is a prime example) and few related English courses. My time is slowly coming to an end at York but I am forever grateful for my team of Professors at the English department as well as Professor Seslow for always pushing me to do my best! I have lot more in store in for my website so stay tuned!
Hey guys, I’d like to a new few minutes out of your day and talk about my new website www.eyesofthecontributor.com. It is my own platform on the web where I can share my own creative writing as opposed to my professional blog site where I do all my presentations, academic work, and much more. Being the person I am today who went through a lot growing up, I would always find an escape through writing, reading, music, and even art (even though I am not that crafty) but these outlets really gave me a voice to say what I wanted to say. I have a great team of my English professors and even our very own Professor Seslow who has seen what I can contribute to the world. Hence, why I came up with the name of the site. Get it? Together, they all have became mentors, advisors, and even to some extent like a parent figure to me. I really thank you all for helping me grow into what I am called to be which is to be a contributor of knowledge. My site really takes you deep into what I write about. The best source that inspires me to write is life and stories I hear. On my site, you will find poems, short stories, lyrics (yes I write lyrics to songs, but I sadly can’t sing them, but sometimes I’ll rap), and thoughts that swirl through my mind as I make my journey in life. Take a visit, because there’s much more to come pretty soon. Leave comments, feedback, critique, all are welcome!
For the past two weeks, I spent two hours everyday learning to how to create a Vaporwave using Photoshop. It was a very long process but I finally nailed it ! Check it out below:
I feel accomplished 😀
Vaporwave is a unique genre of internet memes and images and began trending during the 2010s era. I began with creating them using a generator on the internet. I have created three Vaporwave for this blog. It was an interesting medium, using the generator. The generator allowed me to upload any image of my choosing and it has a lot of features which generate the special effects. The special effects allows me to alter how the original image looks, adding more animations effects, etc. It was fun to play around with it because it allows me to create all sorts of Vaporwaves. Overall it was an entertaining project
Below are some of my creations! Enjoy!
A few weeks ago in CT 101, we learned about Panoramic Photography. Myself and others included pondered about this mysterious notion. Since, none of us could figure out Professor Seslow cleared up our confusion and showed us how we can shoot a panoramic photograph at the tip of fingertips. You do not need some expensive cannon DSLR camera to do this experiment. “But what do I need then?” You can use that device you keep staring at all day? Wait what, what are you talking about? Yes, your very own smart phone can do the trick. No expensive equipment is needed. Now, my friends go out there and take some awesome panoramic photos and share it for the web to see! I’ll be watching 😉
Here is a panoramic photograph my classmates and I took. I call it “Frenemies”
