The semester is almost over! The level of excitement is real. I always thought that fall semester goes by way faster than the spring, maybe because we have more days off for fall semester. It’s been very hectic with all of these tests. I feel like going crazy having to study for so many classes.
I have one last midterm next week and that’s about it. This semester has been somewhat of a tough one for me because my classes are getting more difficult so I’m just really happy its almost OVER.
Lately, female rappers have been making more of a name for themselves. The usual “who’s better” argument has been floating around artists such as Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Remy Ma and even Lil Kim. There are probably under 50 female rappers that have made it on top and yet they are still faced with a great amount of pressure that YOU HAVE TO BE THE BEST. Frankly, male rappers just have to make their songs and hope it’s okay enough for society. Men do not face the same hardships that women do in the music industry. There are so many of them and nobody HAS to be the best. They are allowed to be mediocre at best and that’s okay enough for them while women on the other hand have to go through multiple test in order to prove themselves. Why?
Aside from what pop culture finds interesting… a new female rapper is on the rise. Her name is Rico Nasty. In June 2017 she released her single “Poppin” which became a hit gathering 4 million views on Youtube and was even featured on the HBO show Insecure.
Nicki makes music for the Barbies or the pretty gang girls. Cardi makes music for the girls from the hood that want to make it out and be something one day. While there is nothing wrong with either, if you feel you don’t fit into either category, give Rico a try. She recently released a new album called “Nasty”.
I had the honor to put together a kpop dance performance with the rest of the members from kpop club, for Club fair!!! The process was very long, since a lot of the people taking part in the performance were not necessarily dancers. I was very scared that we would embarrass ourselves up there…. Everday I would tell them to Practice! Practice! Practice!
EVENTUALLY SHOW TIME CAME!!! AND WE COULD ONLY SINK OR SWIM.
Fortunately we pulled through!!! and it came out even better than in all our practices!! I was extremely proud of all the members for taking time out of their busy schedules to even take part in something like this!! we did a really good job!!
WE HONESTLY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO ACT AFTER WE WERE DONE! LOL
THE CROWD CERTAINLY WASNT READY FOR US EITHER!!!!!! UP UNTIL THIS DAY, STUDENTS COME UP TO CERTAIN CLUB MEMBERS EXPRESSING HOW MUCH THEY ENJOYED OUR PERFORMANCE AND HOW AMAZING WE DID!
Now, the days are going down fast, everything is going to get more difficult to handle because you got assignments due, midterms and exams to complete in order achieve that finish grade, that you most desperately want.
Hard work in progress and goals reached. Even though it might say cram week on top, it does not mean spiral out of control. Plan and organize, the remaining months, so you have everything worked out before the holiday’s hit you because you do not want to look like this if it does become cram week for you>
Nah, we don’t want that. We want this>
