Flexibility in the kinds of Digital Storytelling

The first project I picked was the one that seemed like I could reproduce. The reason I chose this one is that it seems like you can have fun with it. I also remember when Instagram was starting up, some people created art like this and it was mind-blowing at the moment. This was when phones weren’t as powerful as today. The other reason why I picked this one is because, all you need is your phone or camera. The author explains that they are not good/ do not like editing software.

In this project, you have to create a panorama shot. The twist is that you must continue to move while the shot is happening to create the illusion that there is more than one of you.

The second project I picked, in my opinion, is a little more challenging but still very fun. I know the possibility of photoshop is endless because I tried to learn it once. I kinda gave up on it because it was just overwhelming. I would see some fast forward clips of people creating photo and it was insane how many different tools they were using as well as keyboard short cuts. I don’t think there is an easy way to learn photoshop other than putting hours of practice into it.

In this project, you must take multiple shots of yourself or a friend. Then in photoshop, you must link them together. the end result is a creepy funny-looking shot.

With both of these projects, I feel like it can be fun. I also believe that if they are done correctly they can definitely tell a story or just be funny! If you never did these you will be learning camera skills as well as photoshop skills that you will always be able to use to tell a story. Not only are they good skills to have to tell stories, but they can also be used in the future we just might not know how yet.
