Hi- my name is Pamela Alessa, but most people will just go by Pamela. There were two things that happened in the past week that had me excited for the weekend to finally arrive. One of them was the Super Bowl; one of the biggest sports events in the country. Now I’m not a fan of football, but the halftime performance was by Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, two of the most iconic Latina artists. If you haven’t watched it, I suggest you do hence the link below.
Now I don’t know if you noticed, but within the crowd, some people were waving the Colombian flag, which made me beam with even more pride of my culture. Considering I am Colombian I was already ecstatic to see two Latinas perform, but seeing my people in the crowd supporting them made it even better.
Another event that I was counting down the days to watch was the Oscars. I had watched every movie and I won’t lie, was specifically rooting for 1917 as it was my favorite of them all. Although not winning many, the part that stole the show for me was when two presenters, Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig, presented. I will leave the link here because the video speaks for itself.
This video was honestly one of the funniest, if not the funniest, part of the whole awards show. I also have to throw in there that Joaquin Phoenix winning the best actor was memorable as well!
