Hey everyone – it’s been a while since my last post! Since everyone’s been sharing their Vapor-wave projects (and they look awesome) I figured I reveal what I’ve been working on within the same medium. This is Vapor-wave through the eyes of Brandon Bradley!
I have to admit that this was a weird project for me in terms of material and thematic references, but I believe that I made it work to my advantage. Unlike some of the other projects I saw, I decided not to include a high variety of assets as the focus of this piece. I wanted to include a lot of sci-fi, comic book references simply because I’m down for the nerd culture everyday, all day! It’s a movement and I’ll always be happy to contribute to the cause. I don’t want to give away too much, but I want you guys to take a good look at my image and see if you can name any of the references I included. There are some high profile themes in this piece so don’t hesitate to leave a comment and tell me what you think! (I’ll give you a hint: The guy in the red tights has amazing speed and the Speed Force is unusually strong with him.)
I also realized how much I enjoy utilizing perspective to my advantage as well because I always want to create a sense of believability in my work. Not just with digital projects, but with traditional materials as well. It’s an incredible useful tool when working on art! As for Vapor-wave, there are some kinks that I want to work out, but I’m definitely gonna keep hammering at it until it feels natural.
With that being said – I hope you guys have a blessed day and I’ll see you on the web!
