Post It (Smartphones Are Creation Tools)

I enjoy playing around with apps to create different works of art, so it’s not really foreign to me. I was asked the other day by a close friend to create a flyer/poster to help promote his performance. His idea was to keep the flyer simple and straight forward. In going about this process, I used two apps. One is my go-to app, Picsart, which to me is like the phone app equivalence to photoshop but you know, not photoshop. It’s very simple to use and offers a vide variety of effects and filters. And the other was Back Eraser, which from the title does exactly what it says, erases backgrounds(turns pictures transparent).

First I used Back Eraser to turn the individual pictures of the performers transparent. Using the eraser tool to be as intricate as possible to maintain a good outline. I could have also used Picsart to isolate the individual sillhouttes, however, Back Eraser had made things much more simple.

After I created the transparent images, I started to work on Picsart. Using a white background as a starting template, I incorporated all the images into it using the same effects on each picture to give it some “class”. I tried to make it as “rap” as possible, with the fonts and filters.
