My Visit to The Metropolitan Museum

The Picture on the Left is the picture I painted to replicate the original. The Original is on the right, The Artist’s name is Margareta Haverman and it is titled “A vase of flowers”.

When I went to the Met in the city I instantly fell in love with this picture! Its very big in person and the detail and colors are outta this world…

Although this was my first time going to the Met, I truly enjoyed it. This picture inspired me to try it for myself. I think i did a pretty good job at the sketch. I used charcoal to sketch it the first time. I then wen over it in a brown undertone erasing highlights to create flowers. I let it dry for about a week then I went over it in color. I used regular oil paints and linseed oil mixed with turpentine for a medium.

How do you guys think I did?
