Language Choices o_0

For next semester I decided to take a language class, French to be specific. From junior high to high school I had Spanish class but the teachers that taught weren’t as adept to the language and couldn’t teach it properly. From junior high to high school I had Spanish class but the teachers that taught weren’t as adept to the language and couldn’t teach it properly. So along the the years I’ve grown uninterested in the language in the whole. Plus I do have friends that are Hispanic that can help me out anyway. The actual language that I wanted to learn was either Japanese of Korean. I’m quite adept to both styles of music and I’ve watched a few of there drama shows and I’ve come to like the language they speak along with the country they inhabit. Sadly my last college and York does not cater to no other Asian language except Chinese. My mind and body isn’t ready for the language and I don’t really know much of there music or culture enough to just jump into the language. I decided to take French since it’s a completely different language to me and it seems interesting. I asked my friends what language I should learn. It was either French or Italian. My friend took Italian so she wanted me to take it but I just chose the opposite haha. I still wish they had Japanese not sure why they have Japanese. I’m sure people would like to take that language.

Internet fame can make or break you WR#12

Instead of reading the reviews for Cory Doctorow’s Fame Won’t Make You Rich, But You Can’t Get Paid Without It, to listen to his interview on Publisher Weekly’s Radio 95. One part of the interview that grabbed my attention was when he spoke about how authors get money, then the publishers and the tech would be the last. Since then things have changed. Authors are not really getting that much money any more since publishers and the tech world have some how conned there way through getting paid first. Most people think that author do not get that much money because of this but Doctorow explains that this is not usually the case. People who make a lot of money are not really touched by this fact, indie writers can be hurt in some way and for starting authors it can be a small gain. Not only that but there is a huge competition on who’s book will be worth more on whoever publisher or on whoever’s site.

The title of his book also catches my attention because in most cases this can be true. depending on what career you are choosing you can either be famous and get paid or not. Not every that become famous get paid right away. In most cases they will take what they learnt from being famous that one time and build off of it. It makes sense also that the someone who hires you will pay you more because of the fame you have collected with what you are doing. It will give the company more recognition and fame for themselves also. Fame can be a very touchy subject. It can make you and sadly break you. Choosing the people you work with or the type or work you do can be beneficial to your cause but it also have to be beneficial for the company you work for.

In my friends case she just recently gotten good start on her youtube channel. I’m not really worried about your stuff being stolen since she puts up videos mostly on her hair. She does do a bit of cosplay make up also but it’s not something that can be stolen. Copied yes, stolen possibly not. If someone will commit such an act the only thing anybody can do it contact the support and make a complaint. Sadly people who start off when in the youtube industry can be copied by people who are more popular and others may not know. All the credit would go to the more popular person then the person who made the idea and others may post negative things on there page. The internet has a lot of good things along with a lot of bad and dangerous acts.

Self-Assessment WR#11

When doing the self-assessment I realized there was something things that was on the sheet that I did not really implement onto my personal site. When doing the self-assessment I realized there was something things that was on the sheet that I did not really implement onto my personal site. First things first, I’m not really a fan of customizing which is puzzling to some but yeah I think it looks a bit messy if I do it. I don’t have favorites when it comes to things I like. I like everything equally so it would just look like a clutter mess of images. My site layout is also pretty simple. The design I have with the posts in the center, recent posts, comments and archives is on the right. The menu buttons is also on the top. I feel good about my weekly reflections and my game reviews. My game are a bit slow since there are a few games that I have, I finished from a long time ago and I can’t just write about something I can barely remember. It’s easy but remembrance comes into play For my weekly it quite easy to catch up to since it is given to us. I feel a bit good about my posts. I’m fine with posting at least 1 or 2 posts a week. I am pushing my way through this a day at a time trying to find content post about.

Digital Storytelling #2

For my second digital storytelling I made a GIF once again. It was for one of the weekly reflections so I decided to also place the GIF here.   Tada this is my GIF! Tada this is my GIF! It looks simple yes but it still was a bit hard for a beginner like me to do. The person in this GIF is Monkey D. Luffy, you can read more here. The steps are fairly simple you just have to remember them which I did only half way. The first thing I did was select the wanted and pasted it into another new page. I then seperately mapped out each letter and placed them on the original. I had a few troubles going back and forth with the “wanted” letters since I didn’t know how to place them but I pulled through. For the black and white I had to change the full image. Before I did that I made a copy of the original and and the edited photo and made those black and white. When turning the images into a animation it took me awhile to get it right but I got it done with the help of my professor. Besides that this is my finished product.

My Inspiration WR#10

I don’t necessarily have a someone who inspires me but since we can look from anywhere I decided to choose someone choose one who came close. I don’t necessarily have a someone who inspires me but since we can look from anywhere I decided to choose someone choose one who came close. I chose a character from a japanese manga/anime that I watched called One Piece.

That is Monkey D. Luffy. He is around the age of 16-18 and from the wanted posted you may or may not tell that he is a wanted pirate but for all the wrong reasons. In the world of One Piece pirates exist who venture for gold, booze and of course women. At a young age of maybe 10 Luffy became friends with a powerful pirate named Shanks and made a promise that he would become the greatest pirate. He also ate a Devils Fruit. They are fruit that give you powers of the devil. The fruit Luffy ate called the Gomu Gomu fruit which means rubber. So as you guessed he’s a rubber boy. The down side to these devil fruits is that you cannot swim a big set back for a pirate. His dream is to find the treasure One Piece. A treasure hidden away by Gold D. Roger in his final words before execution.

Now onto the part where he some how inspires me. Luffy is a carefree optimistic teen. He doesn’t let anything stop him from becoming the greatest. From his personality some think he is not considerate of others but he is. He cares for the people he calls his family. You ask for help he will be there to help you all you have to do is ask. Luffy also has a right of justice. He helps those who he thinks are living a unfair life or is being tormented by a pirate. He fights for the things he believes and does not budge an inch no matter how many times people try to persuade him. Being captain of his ship he isn’t the most intelligent haha. Everybody in his crew knows this but they still follow him and call him captain. I think that shows a lot about him. For someone who isn’t that intelligent, does everything head on, and is still able to have a crew makes him a born leader. There is never a dull moment with Luffy and I love it.

With this portrait Luffy is worth 300,000,000 Beli(there currency) from my description it is hard to believe he has done enough damage to be worth so much. The fact that he is smiling in a wanted post is also a bit humorous. Being worth that much is a very big deal but he doesn’t seem to care. He actually wants everyone know he exists and will be the one to find the treasure One Piece.
