J. Cole had the internet going crazy  on Thursday Dec. 1st with the surprise pre-order of his upcoming album, 4 Your Eyez Only, hitting iTunes without any warning. After social media buzzed about the confirmation of the new project, the Fayetteville native confirmed the project by releasing an accompanying documentary entitled Eyez on Tidal.

Similar to the release of his last surprise project, Forest Hills Drive, Cole stepped out from the shadows to give a bit of context to 4 Your Eyez Only. Beginning with a session at New York City’s Electric Lady Studios, the 39-minute doc seems to place emphasis on the rapper’s attention to instrumentation on the forthcoming release, as he and his team are seen tweaking the sounds of violins, saxophones and trumpets. Even J. Cole himself is found fiddling around with a bass guitar. A discussion about his creative process makes clear his intentions to speak his truths, as the Dreamville head honcho also notes his “detached” lifestyle makes it difficult to hold on to the sentiments that inspire his music.

“You get to this height or this level of your career in terms of platform, and who’s to say – the next one might go down, could go up,” he said. “You’re never guaranteed to be this high again. So while I’m here, let me use this opportunity to say the realest s**t I have ever said, in case the next time that s**t is down here.”

Kehlani was dealing with a lot this past spring, including a relationship drama that was all over social media. After the rapper and ex-boyfriend PartyNextDoor posted a picture of the two laying in bed together people on social media attacked her and accused her on cheating on the NBA-player Kyrie Irving.

Later that week Kyrie Irving posted on Twitter “Of this non sense, that could’ve been avoided, but Kehlani and me were not dating, when the picture came out”.

The gossip and accusations went so out of control, that Kehlani tried to take her own life. She survived and posted on Instagram that she should grateful, because there is obviously a reason why she is still on this earth. Her post just led to more drama and the singer, and she decided to distance herself from social media platforms for a while.

Kehlani returned in July with “CRZY” an uplifting banger that made the Oakland singer sound more invincible than ever. In september she shared the new Benny Boom-directed video for the track, featuring a birthday celebration that ends with cake to the face and some amazing choreography.

Kehlani followed up with releasing two other tracks “Advice” amd “Distraction”. Last month, she revealed her album “SWEETSEXYSAVAGE” will be releasing January 27th. It is available in itunes for pre-order.

West’s week-long stay in the facility came after a week during which he told an audience in San Jose on 18 November that he would have voted for Donald Trump in the recent presidential election.

On 21 November he played three songs at a concert in Sacramento before going off on a spoken-word tangent about Hillary Clinton and how he felt betrayed by Beyoncé and Jay Z, before he walked off stage prematurely. A day later it was confirmed that he would cancel the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour, and after police were called to reports of a disturbance at his home on 21 November, he was taken to the hospital.

His mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, told US TV show Extra at the time: “He’s exhausted, he’s just really tired. He’s had a grueling tour and it’s been a grind so he just needs some rest.”

Another Kardashian insider tells In touch that “before his breakdown, he was hearing voices and taking pills to sleep and to stay awake.” Another source adds, “He’ll walk into a room and look for recording devices behind frames and in flower arrangements. He doesn’t trust anyone. Paranoia has taken over his life.”

Starboy

The Weeknd’s rise to the top of the pop music world has been an unconventional one not because of his talent, but because of his image and persona. “Goddamn, bitch, I am not a Teen Choice,” the 26-year-old Toronto native born Abel Tesfaye sings on “Reminder”, a song from his third proper album as The Weeknd, Starboy.

He’s referencing the major awards he was up for thanks to his breakthrough album, last year’s Beauty behind the Madness. The Weeknd’s reluctance to see himself as a traditional pop icon makes sense: Ever since he began turning heads with his now-legendary trio of mixtapes from 2011  House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence, later packaged together as Trilogy, a big part of his identity as an artist has been his rampant hedonism. “Starboy” peaked at Number Two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
